A behind-the-scenes look at how my projects come together — from early ideas to final execution.

Animated CG asset passed through ComfyUI workflow and integrated into 3D scene

A quick update on my AI-people journey :) The main idea was to create a fully controllable 3D scene with a camera move that the AI-generated (ComfyUI) character would match. The CG library character’s movement felt a bit robotic, so this was a good test of how well the controls could guide the motion - where the overall movement needed to match, but the AI could still interpret it in its own way. Notice that the AI character has his hand in his pocket (that was intentional), while the CG asset is swinging his arms. As always, there’s room for improvement, but I’m pretty happy with the result for now.

Animated CG asset passed through ComfyUI workflow

Watching all the AI-generated videos online got me thinking — could any of this actually be used in a real-world ArchViz project? Over the past few months, I’ve been exploring different workflows to see how AI could fit into the process. Below is a quick video sample: on the left, you see a typical ArchViz asset you’d use in a project. Normally, if the goal is photorealism, you’d avoid getting too close with the camera — the illusion breaks down quickly. On the right, the same 3D render has been passed through a ComfyUI workflow. And while the results aren’t perfect, I genuinely had that “oh wow — this is scary” moment. I’ll dive deeper into the AI people generation in my upcoming “ArchViz with a Twist” video, so stay tuned!

Archviz With a Twist #005 | SofaDrops MakingOf 001

My latest video in the “Archviz with a Twist” series shows how I used Houdini in my Archviz concept project.

Archviz With a Twist #004 | Rigid Body Dynamics | Houdini

My latest video in the Archviz with a Twist series showcases Rigid Body Dynamics simulations in Houdini, along with a quick sneak peek at how they can be applied in an Archviz project. Hope you’ll enjoy it and stay tuned for more!

Archviz With a Twist #002 | Teaser 01

As part of my series “Archviz with a Twist”, I’d like to share a short video I put together while exploring a few topics. In the upcoming breakdowns for this video, I’ll be showing and explaining how I used ComfyUI, Cryptomattes, and RBD (Rigid Body Dynamics in Houdini). Those videos are coming soon so stay tuned—and enjoy!

Archviz With a Twist #001

Hey everyone! I’m Vaida, and I’ve decided to start a little series called “Archviz with a Twist.” The idea is to explore unconventional techniques and workflows in Archviz — approaches that aren’t always standard but can open up new creative possibilities. For the first video, I’m diving into Houdini. I started experimenting with it about a year ago, and while it can feel intimidating at first, its procedural workflow gives you incredible control and makes iteration much faster. As a test project, I built a fully procedural, animated building with randomly scattered assets on each floor. I also challenged myself to bring all the geometry back into 3ds Max, since my goal was to use Houdini as a powerful support tool rather than the main package. It turned into quite the science project , but I learned a ton — and I’ll be sharing more experiments like this in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy the video and stay tuned for what’s next!
